RAISING AND SHORING
Anderson-Janovich provides
expertise in raising structures and installing shoring. These services are necessary for a number of reasons including foundation
repair or replacement, basement installation, and first floor additions. No matter the reason for lifting your home, great
care is taken every step of the way. We have the experience to make this a safe and smooth process. In the Bay Area's
real estate market, it is a great equity investment to raise a house and add a first floor, doubling the square-footage of
your home. You might also be interested in temporarily raising the home, excavating and installing a basement, and then placing
the home back at its original level. Either way, adding an additional floor gives you more living space and increases the
value of your home!

The house shown to the right has been raised twelve
feet from its original location. Raising a house to this level requires the type of skills that we've developed with decades
of experience.
The house is raised in series of very small steps, so that structure is in no way compromised by the
process. The process is so controlled and gentle that your furnishings and possessions can remain in the house as it is lifted.
This
is a beautiful house, well worth raising!

The photo to the left shows a typical temporary shoring
structure (called a cribb pile) which is used to support the house while a basement is installed. Once the foundation and
basement work is completed, the house will be lowered onto the basement walls and secured in place.
After the house
is securely placed onto the new walls, the temporary shoring and the cross loading members are removed. Then, the floor beneath
the location of the temporary shoring is finished off and the work is complete.
When it's all done, the house is not
just good as new, it's better than new. What would you do with all the room?
